      Not the Best rack

      doubledown is not the best i normally ride with one bike it rocks around alot i added two straps at center post to hold the bike incase the straps that hold seat post and top bar were to ever fail the clamps that hold top bar are absolute waste only one locks secure other slides around like all get out of here so i brace it with next clamp to stop the sliding also why i added extra strap around center bar i recently hauled two bikes for first time in 5 months of owning double down 4 i'd say this rack can't haul more than three bikes safely but you need extra clamps to stop one clamp from sliding around so its better than nothing but not the best it sways alot i've tightened the bolts there tight maybe that what this type rack does i'm not sure and i'd never advise going on long highway trips you cant go much over 70 cars always slide over when they come up from behind me so it makes me think there scared of the rocking also and its time to update there youtube video its old outdated no i would not say this is best rack i've seen cars with allen bike racks hold there bikes more stable

      One Security Problem

      Really nice and solid in my hitch -- NO movement at all! :) Easy to use, tilt feature will be useful for some folks. The only problem with the design is that the pivot bolt can be easily removed, so all anyone has to do to steal your bikes is remove that bolt and lift the entire assembly off the part that goes into the hitch receiver. I wish Yakima would offer a locking collar that could be placed around that bolt.

      Great basic rack

      We're a family of 3 and this works great for our family rides. It's only limitation is how it interfaces with non-traditional frames. It doesn't work with my full suspension bike but that's not what I ride with my fam anyway. I have a 30 year old Yakima roof system for my mountain rides. I got this for the family suv. I expect to have this just as long because of how well made it is.
